The tubular Cooltube consists of a special glass that withstands high temperatures. The cooltube reflector in combination with an extractor, manages to decline by 3 to 4 ° C the heat emitted by the lamp.

The original Cooltube is an air-tight, fully sealed clear glass tube with a lamp mounting bracket in its centre. It's perfect for removing the excess heat generated by HID grow lights without leaking unpleasant odours.
Air is usually pulled (but can be pushed) over the lamp by adding an extractor fan to one side of the tube, the hot vented air is then expelled away from the growroom and plants. They're very effective, somewhere in the region of 70-80% of heat is removed.
