Gold Label Hydrocorn

Gold Label Hydro clay pebbles are made from the purest clays and fired in open kilns with high quality clean fuels. This prevents contamination with heavy metals or other harmful substances that could otherwise be released during use. These clay granules are absolutely inert and last a very long time.

The 8-16 mm unequal granules offer excellent stability and form the ideal surface for roots or soil life. The porous structure ensures a high water capacity. Gold Label Hydro is an ideal inert hydroponic substrate suitable for ebb-flood systems or irrigation with drain..

How do you get the best results with Gold Label Hydro?

  • Wash and soak new grains before using them for the first time. New clay granules have a high pH. Bring them back to the desired stable pH value while they soak with pH-.
  • Rinse the substrate after each cultivation cycle (and also during the cultivation regularly) with enzymes to keep it clean..
  • After an illness or infection, you can clean and disinfect the substrate with hydrogen peroxide. It is recommended to do this preventively once a year.
  • Introduce soil life and Mycorrhiza! Clay granules form an ideal surface for bacteria to settle on. By turning off good bacteria you prevent pathogens from settling in the medium. Growing in a sterile medium without soil life makes it susceptible to infections.
  • Just leave small root remnants in the substrate. It is excellent organic material for your soil life. You often see that a second use of the same substrate gives a better result.
  • Use special Hydroponic fertilizers containing chelated micro-elements. These work pH independently and can therefore be optimally included in the safe pH range.
  • If you use your nutrients in a recycle system, you should change and clean the tank once a week.
