The use of Pia technology (Philips Integrated Antenna) results in a significantly longer average service life, as moving components are no longer used in the construction of the hps lamp.

This makes the Philips Son-T Pia luminaire simpler and more shock-resistant than conventional HPS lamps and significantly reduces the proportion of bulbs that no longer work thanks to a modified ignition technique. In addition, the pressure of the discharge tubes of the Pia-HPS luminaires has been increased, which leads to an increase in the current.
