NPK analysis kit

It has never been easier to make your own substrate!

Thanks to this analysis kit you can check the nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium content of a substrate sample. No more preparations that are too rich or too poor, hello mixtures of mineral and organic materials!

If you were wondering how much vermicompost to use or what quantity of ashes for what quantity of litter, you will now have the possibility of balancing them before your crop cycles.

To do this, start By making a first mixture, check that it is uniformly mixed.
Then carry out the analysis steps before making dosage changes to your mixture.

Procedure:

  1. Take a sample of substrate (two allow better reliability, so if possible repeat the action on another area), it is important that this sample is taken from a place which does not present any obvious particularity (part still dry , always humid, always in the shade or along the river, etc.)
  2. Please note that the sampling depth can impact the test result, so we advise you to avoid the first 5 centimeters of depth. The ideal depth for sampling seems to be between 5 and 30 cm deep. Once collected, crush the sample well and mix homogeneously.
  3. If you have taken two samples from the same soil, mix them evenly, then remove the stones, gravel, and rocky elements.
  4. Then move on to nutrient extraction. To do this, start by adding 7.5 ml of MT5015 to a tube (up to the third line), then add 6 to 9 small spoonfuls (tools provided) of the substrate mixture. Carefully close the tube and mix vigorously for 1 minute. Finally let it settle (rest) for at least 5 minutes.

Colorimetric analysis protocol for N-Nitrogen

  • using a pipette transfer (without stirring) 2.5 ml of extract into the tube with the red lid
  • add the contents of an entire MT5009-0 sachet, close and mix the tube for 30 seconds.
  • Let it sit for 30 seconds, and use the colored cardboard card to identify the nitrogen content of the sample.
  • Intermediate results (between two colors) are possible

Colorimetric analysis protocol for P-Phosphorus

  • using a pipette transfer (without stirring) 2.5 ml of extract into the tube with the yellow lid
  • Add the entire contents of one MT50110-0 sachet, close and mix the tube for 30 seconds.
  • Let it sit for 30 seconds, and use the colored cardboard card to identify the phosphorus content of the sample.
  • Intermediate results (between two colors) are possible

Turbidimetric analysis protocol for K-Potassium

  • using a pipette transfer 2.5 ml of extract into the tube with the blue lid
  • Add the entire contents of one MT5002-0 sachet, close and mix the tube for 30 seconds.
  • Let it sit for 30 seconds, and use the cardboard card to identify the potassium content of the sample.
  • cover the squares with the bottle, the reading is done from top to bottom, the first line where you can no longer see the space between the squares is the result of the test

You are now informed about the nutritional quality of the soil or substrate in question!

All you have to do is correct the situation by amending your soil with certain organic or mineral materials, or by using specific boosters during your next waterings!
